About

Our story begins with Bert & Doyle’s great grandfather, Bill Miller, when Bill only had a few cows roaming the land of Oklahoma in the late 1800’s before the area was a state, and still a territory.

Bert, Doyle, and E.D. Miller are the owners of Miller Brangus, but they also share a unique bond since Bert and Doyle are brothers and E.D. is their father. Their dad, E.D. Miller, started his journey with cattle when he was only 17 years old, when he entered into the Cherokee county fair. E.D. took home the first place ribbon that year with his Hereford steer named Tommy.

The Miller brothers and their father have been raising cattle in Waynesboro, Tennessee since 1976, and then their dad decided to purchase their first Brangus bull and heifers in 1981 putting them in the registered Brangus business.

Bert, Doyle, and E.D. Miller have been in the business for over 35 years, and each year they have grown stronger and stronger. Of course by being in the business for so long, they have experienced mistakes along the way but they have known way more success than setbacks in their many years of the Brangus business.

We at Miller Brangus know what works and what doesn’t. We know that the cattle business is all about persistence, honesty, dedication, and heard work. Here at Miller Brangus, we are about family, tradition, the love of God, and country. Our passion is to breed better cattle, and we have a commitment to our vision by standing behind our breeding. Just like mom and dad have taught us, we go by the golden rule and treat our customers the way we would want to be treated.

If you have ever been to the Miller Brangus ranch here in Waynesboro, you would know that there is something special to it. Once you pull up to the gate you witness the most beautiful rolling green Tennessee pastures you have ever laid your eyes on. Even though the land may be beautiful, the climate and terrain on our ranch can be tough on the cattle. Summertime temperatures can be over 100 degrees, and the winter can be brutal with freezing rain and snow with temperatures reaching zero. It can be a harsh environment, but for that reason we fully believe that our cattle will work for whomever owns them since they have already passed the test! We breed our cattle to be structurally sound, rugged, meat wagons that you will be most impressed with.

Miller Brangus has been built through rigid culling, continuous selection pressure, detailed record keeping and uncompromising breeding commitment that lets us produce cattle that meet the demanding conditions in the cattle industry today. Our breeding philosophy is "pounds on the ground," which means putting as many pounds on a calf as fast and efficiently as possible without sacrificing birth weight, frame, and fertility.

We talk very highly of our cattle here at Miller Brangus, and we are sure you will do the same when you see our cattle for yourself. Please stop in for a visit, share a meal with us, and evaluate the cattle for yourself. We would love the opportunity to get to know you, and we are confident that you will appreciate the cattle as much as we do.
